What do I know?
Before I started genius hour baking I did know how to read ingredients in fractions and how to mix the ingredients in properly so there are know big chunks of sugar or butter.
what do I want to know?
what I want to know is does the pan you cook the cake in affect how the cake is baked and how does a cake cook un-evenly and what to do if the middle isn't cooked properly.
How do I find out?
I could look on the internet or watch cooking video's on youtube and find the answers to my questions.
What have I Learned?
I have learned how to do perfect measurements and how to make sure it is cooked/not raw and a tip to this is to stick a tooth pick into the cake and if it comes out with nothing on it it's cooked and if it comes out with batter it is not cooked.I also made criteria on how to make a good cake so next time I ever make a cake I will know what to do in order to make a good cake.
What Action will I take?
I'm going to researching recipes, tips and techniques and information about all of my questions on how to make a good and effective cake.
What knew Questions do I have
How do you design a cake using icing, what kind of tools would you need?
REFLECTION
My reflection for my over all project. First of all I picked baking because I was really passionate about baking and I don't have a lot of time to work on baking skills and I really wanted to learn more about it.Along the way we had so many problems not going to lie the first one we had was who was going to bring what ingredients and we solved it by each bringing the same number and who ever had what at home because we didn't want anyone going out to buy there half of the ingredients, so that was one of the problems among a lot. Some tip I have for you if you are doing a similar project is be more careful with the time because we were going to make two cakes but we ran out of time and another tip is to remember all of your supplies. Through out this genius hour I think I learned a lot and it will come in use in the long run!
